TIP #16

More about why you need to get more ZZZZs! New studies are out that show that not getting enough sleep can cause you to weigh more! One reason for this is because you eat more when you are tired. The study specifically required that participants not make any significant changes to their diet or exercise routine. They were told to get 7 1/2 hours sleep a night. Over 10 weeks everyone lost weight just by getting more sleep! Another bonus-you will have more energy and who wouldn't like that? With this new found energy you just might find yourself exercising more often!

Our parents were right when they encouraged us to get to bed early. Only during deep sleep does human growth hormone get produced. What is that you ask? Growth hormone works directly on cells to stimulate metabolism. If you are always in a state of exhaustion because of lack of sleep you'll certainly come up short on energy-so get your ZZZZZZZZZZZ!
