TIP #20

There is no magic to weight loss. One of the best things you can do is start immediately with some small changes. Take a 15 minute walk 2 times/day. After one month there goes 1 pound!

TIP #19

A recent study shows that people who wear a pedometer walk about 2,000 more steps per day, which is about 1 more mile than those who don't. Those extra steps burn about 100 more calories!

TIP #18

Are you someone who exercises like crazy but never sees any results? Want to know what the problem is? It's your nutrition. No amount of exercise will reshape your body without proper nutrition! So make some changes TODAY!

TIP #17

DID YOU KNOW?

Sleeping for one hour burns 65 calories. Walking fast (5.3 mph) burns 650 calories per hour! So get out of that bed and walk!

TIP #16

More about why you need to get more ZZZZs! New studies are out that show that not getting enough sleep can cause you to weigh more! One reason for this is because you eat more when you are tired. The study specifically required that participants not make any significant changes to their diet or exercise routine. They were told to get 7 1/2 hours sleep a night. Over 10 weeks everyone lost weight just by getting more sleep! Another bonus-you will have more energy and who wouldn't like that? With this new found energy you just might find yourself exercising more often!

TIP #15

Want to make some healthy changes in the way you eat? Start by adding egg whites to your diet. Egg whites are high quality complete protein and are easily digested and absorbed. Yolks have a considerable amount of fat. It's ok to eat one yolk occasionally, but try to have 3 to 4 egg whites every morning! Hardboiled eggs are an easy quick breakfast, since they can be made ahead of time. They are also convenient to pack into your lunch. Why not get creative and add vegetables and herbs to your scrambled egg whites. This is a perfect fit for combining protein and complex carbohydrates!

TIP #14

Things to remember when working out:

Each pound of muscle burns approximately 50 calories a day. Each pound of fat burns approximately 2 calories a day.

Tip #13

Consuming complete proteins increases your metabolic rate. Best sources of complete proteins are lean chicken breast, white fish, salmon, tuna, egg whites, turkey, pork and beef tenderloin.

TIP #12

Start this new habit: Eat MORE food but of BETTER quality! Try eating smaller meals every 2 to 3 hours and make sure they each contain complex carbohydrates and lean protein. Make that a palm-sized portion of protein. Plus don't forget lots of water!
